Senator Lapid to Tackle Online Gambling's Impact on Youth

Senator Lito Lapid vows to investigate illegal online casinos and e-sabong through PAGCOR and PCSO, citing concerns over youth’s exposure to online gambling.

Sen Lito Lapid is set to address the issue of illegal online casinos and e-sabong, which are currently rampant nationwide, through the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

In an interview with Bacolod media yesterday, Sen Lapid expressed concern over the moral implications of online casino gaming for young people and minors. As a result, he has filed a resolution with Senator Raffy Tulfo to investigate online gambling, including casinos and e-sabong, in the Senate.

Furthermore, Senator Lapid supports the establishment of the Negros Island Region, which he believes will greatly contribute to the strengthening of the economy and tourism in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.

The senator was also present at the highlights of the 2024 Himaya Festival in the city of Himamaylan yesterday, demonstrating his commitment to engaging with local communities on important issues.
